CERTIFIED DANGEROUS GOODS PROFESSIONAL (CDGP®) CDGP is a vocational qualification for experienced Dangerous Goods professionals with an understanding of the multimodal Dangerous Goods (DG) regulations. The CDGP is being increasingly recognised across industry, and in a growing number of countries, as the global gold standard for multimodal competence in the transport of DG. The accreditation is now recognised in the UK and around the world under the Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA) of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF). The qualification is awarded by the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM) to industry professionals who meet eligibility requirements and pass a rigorous written examination. Labeline is the IHMM’s first authorised Educational Affiliate in Europe. Eligibility Requirements Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a field related to the transport of dangerous goods. The Exam The 3½ hour exam is open-book and independently proctored by a senior member of IHMM’s management staff. Candidates will require the following publications which can all be purchased from Labeline: UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (Orange Book) International Maritime Organisation’s Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG Code) IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (IATA DGR) or the International Civil Aviation Organisation’s Technical Instructions (ICAO TI) For more information about training courses for CDGP please send an email to: [email protected] Re-Certification A CDGP keeps their accreditation after 5 years in one of two ways: They must show that they have been employed full-time in the Dangerous Goods field and completed a minimum of 20 hours relevant education during each year of the intervening period. Demonstrate currency by taking the latest version of the exam. Official Recognition Many businesses and organisations around the world see the benefits of their DG professionals holding a relevant multimodal vocational qualification. CDGP is officially recognised by many multinational organisations, states across the USA and by the US military. Labeline International is the first authorised Educational Affiliate in Europe for Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM). This means that Labeline is entitled to deliver educational programmes for IHMM’s certification schemes for dangerous goods professionals, including the highly respected CDGP credential. IHMM is a USA-based non-profit, non-governmental organisation that provides a range of exams and qualifications for the dangerous goods (DG) industry.
