As these are adopted under different local legislation there are some differences. CLP is the EU Regulation on Classification, Labelling and Packaging of substances and mixtures. It has been adopted into local legislation by of each member states REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) sets out the obligations of anyone who places chemicals on the market in signatory states. Manufacturers and suppliers must demonstrate that they have identified and managed the risks linked to the substance. HCS 2012 is the legislation in the USA that aligns with GHS.
